Description: The position is for an Endoscopy Registered Nurse. The work shift will run from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM. In the procedure suite, the nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:1. In preoperative and discharge areas, the ratio can be 4:1. Weekend shifts are required every third weekend. Weekend call includes Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. There may also be some weekday on-call duties required from Monday through Thursday. Candidates should have experience with airway management, assisting in procedures such as colonoscopies and EGDs. The role involves circulating, scrubbing, and recovering patients under monitored anesthesia care. Special equipment includes Olympus scopes and gastro imaging software. The unit serves adults and geriatric patients, with an average daily census of 15. Clinical teams will include physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams. Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season, all employees may be assigned to emergency response teams.
