Contract | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 36-Hour Weekly Guarantee | 13-Week Assignment
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and intervene in life-threatening situations, applying thorough knowledge of nursing principles to deliver quality patient care
- Assess and address patient clinical, educational, mental, and spiritual needs in a fast-paced Emergency Department environment
- Recognize safety issues and implement appropriate measures, including safe patient handling and lift techniques
- Function effectively under stress, applying creative problem-solving skills to complex clinical situations
- Demonstrate strong leadership by prioritizing workload and delegating tasks appropriately; may serve in a charge nurse capacity
- Maintain IV access, administer medications, and perform phlebotomy as required during patient care
Required Qualifications
- Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Active BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- MEDITECH electronic health record experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Must successfully complete lethal dysrhythmia exam and obtain defibrillation certification within six months; IV, medication, and phlebotomy certification required during orientation
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Critical care nursing experience
- Previous charge nurse experience in an emergency or acute care setting
