Contract | Full-Time | 12-Hour Day Shifts | Onsite | Weekend rotation every other weekend | 6-week scheduling cycles
Key Responsibilities
- Provide emergency nursing care across a broad patient population ranging from neonates to geriatrics, including approximately 25% pediatric patients, walk-in traumas, and cases involving cardiac, neurological, GI, respiratory, and psychiatric conditions
- Manage ventilators and BiPAP independently, as no respiratory therapists are onsite; ventilator/BiPAP training provided during onboarding
- Mix and administer medications independently under pharmacy supervision via video conference, as no on-site pharmacy is available
- Perform and assist with procedures including chest tube management, central line care, and IV placement; majority of blood draws performed by RN
- Maintain patient ratios of 1:4, with fast-track team ratios of 1:6 (RN/NP team)
- May be requested to serve in a charge nurse capacity; facility will provide training if needed
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum of 2 full years of Emergency Room experience (any trauma level)
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, Advanced NRP, NIHSS, and TNCC
- Traveler Telemetry Competency must be completed and passed prior to start date (graded by SimpliFi Compliance)
- Proficiency with EPIC, Alaris, and Pyxis systems
- Strong IV skills and knowledge of medication administration, including ability to mix own medications
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience in a fast-paced, high-acuity emergency department setting
- Prior experience managing ventilated patients or BiPAP
- Strong customer service and communication skills in a patient-facing environment
- Comfort working in a smaller, newly opened acute care facility with a collaborative team structure
