Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department utilizing the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and facility policies and procedures
- Demonstrate critical thinking skills and scientific judgment in anticipating and planning for the safe delivery of emergency patient care
- Delegate patient care priorities commensurate with the education and experience of available staff
- Provide direction and supervision of assigned personnel delivering patient care
- Maintain clinical competencies through continuing education and adherence to department standards
- Float to other units as needed to support facility staffing requirements
Required Qualifications
- Active Arizona Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
- Experience working in a Trauma Level III, Stroke Receiving, and STEMI Receiving facility environment
- Willingness to float to other units as required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Charge Nurse experience in an Emergency Department setting
- Proficiency with Cerner EMR
- NIH Stroke Scale certification (recommended but not required)
