Key Responsibilities
- Provide acute care assessment and treatment of emergency room patients in a Level III trauma center, accredited chest pain center, and primary stroke center setting
- Perform IV initiation, blood collection, blood transfusions, and medication administration
- Participate in resuscitation of adult and pediatric patients and assist with intubation and moderate sedation
- Deliver care to behavioral health patients and apply restraints as clinically indicated
- Assist with splinting and other procedural support as needed across unit areas including triage and resuscitation rooms
- Utilize EMR system (Meditech) and unit equipment including Level 1, Lucas devices, Welch Allyn vital sign machines, GE bedside monitors, and EKG machines
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- ACLS certification required
- BLS certification required
- PALS or ENPC certification required (must hold at least one)
- Minimum 1 year of emergency department nursing experience
- Ability to work a minimum of 2 weekends per month; no on-call requirement
- Must wear Royal Blue scrubs per unit dress code
Preferred Experience / Skills
- TNCC certification
- ATCN or CEN certification
- Experience in a trauma center or high-acuity emergency department environment
- Comfort and flexibility working across multiple unit areas including triage and resuscitation rooms
