    Job Title

    Registered Nurse – Emergency Room (12-Hour Nights)

    Location

    Tacoma, WA | Acute Care

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts | Every Other Weekend Rotation | Holidays as needed per unit

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care in a high-volume Emergency Department seeing 90–110 patients daily across a 32-bed unit
    • Manage a diverse patient population including general ED complaints, abdominal pain, chest pain, shortness of breath, behavioral health, and geriatric patients
    • Maintain an RN-to-patient ratio of 1:4, collaborating with PCT, charge nurse, hospitalists, ED physicians, and mid-level providers
    • Utilize EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, and Pyxis medication dispensing systems
    • Perform or coordinate lab draws alongside phlebotomy and patient care technicians
    • Demonstrate strong soft skills including teamwork, organization, communication, and time management in a fast-paced environment
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the state of Washington
    • Minimum 2+ years of Emergency Department experience (travel); minimum 4 years for CAP placement
    • First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
    • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC, and MOAB Levels 1 & 2 or CPI
    • Proficiency in general ED clinical skills
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Prior experience with EPIC EMR in an emergency care setting
    • Familiarity with Alaris IV pumps and Pyxis medication dispensing systems
    • Experience with behavioral health and geriatric patient populations
