    Job Title

    Registered Nurse – Emergency Room (12-Hour Nights)

    Location

    Tacoma, WA | Acute Care

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts | Every Other Weekend Rotation | Holidays as needed per unit

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care in a high-volume Emergency Department seeing 90–110 patients daily across a 32-bed unit
    • Manage a diverse patient population including general ED complaints, abdominal pain, chest pain, shortness of breath, behavioral health patients, and geriatric patients
    • Maintain a 1:4 RN-to-patient ratio with PCT support
    • Utilize EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, and Pyxis medication dispensing systems
    • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including charge nurses, PCTs, hospitalists, ED physicians, mid-level providers, and RT available 24/7
    • Perform or coordinate lab draws alongside phlebotomy and patient care technicians
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the state of Washington
    • Minimum 2+ years of Emergency Department experience (travel RN); minimum 4 years required for CAP placement
    • First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
    • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC, and MOAB 1 & 2 or CPI
    • Proficiency with EPIC EMR strongly expected
    • Strong soft skills: team-oriented, organized, effective communicator, and strong time management
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience with Alaris IV pumps and Pyxis medication dispensing systems
    • Familiarity with behavioral health and geriatric patient populations in an ED setting
    • Experience working in a high-census, fast-paced emergency department environment
