    Registered Nurse – Emergency Room (12-Hour Mids)

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Variable Mid/Day or Mid/Evening Shifts | 12-Hour Shifts | Possible start times include 0600, 0900, 1100, 1200, 1500, and 1800 | Every-other-weekend rotation | Holiday coverage as needed by the unit

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care in a high-volume Emergency Department averaging 90–110 patients per day across a 32-bed unit
    • Manage a patient population that includes general ED complaints, abdominal pain, chest pain, shortness of breath, behavioral health patients, and geriatric patients
    • Maintain an RN-to-patient ratio of 1:4, collaborating closely with PCTs, charge nurses, hospitalists, ED physicians, and mid-level providers
    • Utilize EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, and Pyxis medication dispensing systems
    • Perform or coordinate lab draws alongside phlebotomy and patient care technicians
    • Demonstrate strong communication, time management, and organizational skills in a fast-paced team environment
    Required Qualifications
    • Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the state of Washington
    • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC, and MOAB 1 & 2 or CPI
    • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience (traditional traveler); minimum 4 years required for CAP placement
    • First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
    • Proficiency in general ED clinical skills
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience with EPIC EMR in an emergency department setting
    • Familiarity with Alaris IV pumps and Pyxis medication dispensing systems
    • Experience caring for behavioral health and geriatric patient populations
    • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a high-census, fast-paced ED environment
