Registered Nurse – Emergency Room (Travel Contract)

Schedule / Job Type
Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite | Expected 36 hours/week
Key Responsibilities
- Perform rapid triage assessments using ESI levels and prioritization protocols in a 16-bed emergency department
- Provide care across a broad patient population spanning neonates through older adults, including trauma stabilization, cardiac, neurological, sepsis, respiratory, and mental health presentations
- Operate and respond to unit equipment including Code Carts (Adult & Pediatric), defibrillators, GE Cardiac Monitors (B450), ECG, and Rapid Transfuser
- Document and manage patient care using the Paragon ED electronic health record system
- Perform splinting, immobilization, resuscitation, and fast-track care as needed
- Rotate every other weekend on the night shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM); float to other units may occasionally be required
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in the state of practice
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
- PALS certification required
- Minimum of 2 years of emergency nursing experience
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher
- Must reside at least 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel rates
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with moderate sedation in both adult and pediatric populations
- Proficiency in cardioversion and transcutaneous pacing
- Familiarity with Acute Stroke Ready and Chest Pain Center protocols
- Strong critical thinking, flexibility, and dependability in a fast-paced emergency setting
