Travel Nurse RN - Emergency Room (ER) / Trauma in Sylva, NC

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite | Expected 36 hours/week

Key Responsibilities

• Perform rapid triage assessments using ESI levels and prioritization protocols in a 16-bed emergency department
• Provide care across a broad patient population spanning neonates through older adults, including trauma stabilization, cardiac, neurological, sepsis, respiratory, and mental health presentations
• Operate and respond to unit equipment including Code Carts (Adult & Pediatric), defibrillators, GE Cardiac Monitors (B450), ECG, and Rapid Transfuser
• Document and manage patient care using the Paragon ED electronic health record system
• Perform splinting, immobilization, resuscitation, and fast-track care as needed
• Rotate every other weekend on the night shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM); float to other units may occasionally be required

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of practice
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• PALS certification required
• Minimum of 2 years of emergency nursing experience
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher
• Must reside at least 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel rates

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with moderate sedation in both adult and pediatric populations
• Proficiency in cardioversion and transcutaneous pacing
• Familiarity with Acute Stroke Ready and Chest Pain Center protocols
• Strong critical thinking, flexibility, and dependability in a fast-paced emergency setting
