    Job Title

    Registered Nurse – Emergency Room / 12-Hour Nights

    Location

    Spokane Valley, WA | Acute Care

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Every-other-weekend rotation | 1 holiday per contract

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care in a 21-bed Emergency Department (plus hallway, fast track, and outpatient overflow beds) at a Level 3 Trauma Center within a smaller community hospital setting
    • Manage a diverse patient population including geriatric, abdominal pain, chest pain, stroke, psychiatric, respiratory, and approximately 15% pediatric cases
    • Perform advanced clinical skills including TNK administration, conscious sedation, chest tube management, and central line care
    • Operate within a pod-based staffing model at a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio, collaborating closely with ED techs, charge nurses, and support staff available 24/7
    • Document and manage patient care using EPIC EMR (required), Alaris IV pumps, and Pyxis medication dispensing systems
    • Complete required orientation including NEO, EPIC training, skills check-off, and 2–3 precepted shifts prior to independent practice
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
    • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience
    • BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI or MOAB, and NIHSS certifications required
    • EPIC EMR proficiency required
    • Must complete MHS Tele Test prior to arrival
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience with ultrasound-guided IV placement
    • Familiarity with telemetry monitoring at bedside and at nurse's station
    • Prior travel nursing experience (first-time travelers also welcome)
