    Job Title

    Registered Nurse – Emergency Room (Travel)

    Location

    Sanford, NC | Acute Care

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 36 Hours Weekly Guaranteed | Every Other Weekend and Some Holidays | No Call Requirements

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide emergency nursing care to patients of all ages in a fast-paced, 21-bed Emergency Department including telemetry, behavioral health, and fast track areas
    • Manage IV access, IV drips, oxygen demand support, and blood product administration
    • Perform and interpret basic telemetry and EKG monitoring
    • Respond to trauma, resuscitation, and critical care situations including cardiac, neurological, and sepsis emergencies
    • Maintain a 1:5 patient ratio while floating as needed within the department
    • Utilize required certifications (ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale, PALS, and de-escalation training – HWC, CPI, or MAB) throughout all patient care activities
    Required Qualifications
    • Active RN license with a minimum of 2 years of emergency nursing experience
    • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher required
    • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale, PALS, and de-escalation training (HWC, CPI, or MAB)
    • Proficiency with emergency equipment and Cerner EHR
    • Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel placement
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience in emergency medicine with exposure to psychiatric or behavioral health ER patients
    • Familiarity with common diagnoses such as COPD, DKA, sepsis, cardiac emergencies, neurological emergencies, and stroke
    • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a high-acuity, multi-tasking environment as a collaborative team player
