Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 36 Hours Weekly Guaranteed | Every Other Weekend and Some Holidays | No Call Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Provide emergency nursing care to patients of all ages in a fast-paced, 21-bed Emergency Department including telemetry, behavioral health, and fast track areas
- Manage IV access, IV drips, oxygen demand support, and blood product administration
- Perform and interpret basic telemetry and EKG monitoring
- Respond to trauma, resuscitation, and critical care situations including cardiac, neurological, and sepsis emergencies
- Maintain a 1:5 patient ratio while floating as needed within the department
- Utilize required certifications (ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale, PALS, and de-escalation training – HWC, CPI, or MAB) throughout all patient care activities
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license with a minimum of 2 years of emergency nursing experience
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher required
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale, PALS, and de-escalation training (HWC, CPI, or MAB)
- Proficiency with emergency equipment and Cerner EHR
- Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel placement
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience in emergency medicine with exposure to psychiatric or behavioral health ER patients
- Familiarity with common diagnoses such as COPD, DKA, sepsis, cardiac emergencies, neurological emergencies, and stroke
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a high-acuity, multi-tasking environment as a collaborative team player
