    Job Title

    Contract Nurse Navigator / Charge Nurse – Emergency Department

    Location

    San Antonio, TX | Acute Care – Emergency Department

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Travel | 13-Week Assignment | Days | 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM

    Key Responsibilities
    • Serve in a dual Nurse Navigator and Charge Nurse capacity within a high-volume Emergency Department
    • Perform rapid patient assessments and recognize changes in patient condition using strong critical thinking skills
    • Perform and oversee typical ED procedures including moderate sedation, RSI, CPR, PIV/IO, splinting, EKG, blood transfusion, TNK administration, cardiac monitoring, stroke assessment, trauma assessment, resuscitation, and sepsis workups
    • Coordinate patient flow and support acuity-based staffing across a large ED environment with 48 headwalls and approximately 25 additional treatment spaces
    • Document patient care using the Meditech EMR system
    • Function as a self-motivated team player, contributing to an all-hands-on-deck unit culture
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
    • Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department nursing experience
    • Required certifications: TNCC, ENPC or PALS, ACLS, BLS, CPI
    • Strong clinical and rapid patient assessment skills
    • Demonstrated ability to recognize changes in patient condition and apply critical thinking in a fast-paced environment
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Trauma experience in a Level 1 or Level 2 Trauma Center
    • 2+ years of experience in a high-volume Emergency Department
