Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a 27-bed Emergency Department with patient ratios of 4–6:1
- Perform and assist with procedures including RSI, sepsis interventions, stroke protocol with tPA administration, and central line placement
- Manage care of psychiatric patients and coordinate transfers to other facilities in accordance with EMTALA regulations
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including charge RNs, staff RNs, and medics across day and night shifts
- Document patient care accurately using Meditech EMR
- Participate in weekend shift rotation (four weekend shifts within a four-week scheduling period; no on-call required)
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license valid in Virginia or compact state eligibility
- Minimum 2–3 years of Emergency Room experience
- Must have completed 2–3 prior travel assignments
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience in high-acuity, fast-paced, high-volume Emergency Departments
- Comfortable working with patient ratios of 5:1
- Preferred certifications: ENPC, NRP, NIH Stroke Scale
- Relaxed, team-oriented, and adaptable personality well-suited to a collaborative ED environment
