Travel Nurse RN - Emergency Room (ER) / Trauma in Salem, MA

Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care in a 65-bed, pod-based Emergency Department serving all patient populations, including a dedicated pediatric pod and an Acute Mental Health area. Proficiency in general ED nursing skills including assessment, IV, phlebotomy, EKG, cardiac monitoring, point-of-care testing, splinting, and patient education.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 65-bed, pod-based Emergency Department serving all patient populations, including a dedicated pediatric pod and an Acute Mental Health area
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, accurate documentation, and ongoing monitoring including cardiac monitoring and EKG
• Perform IV insertion, phlebotomy, point-of-care testing, and splinting as needed
• Deliver patient education and apply critical thinking skills in a high-volume environment averaging approximately 230 visits per day
• Chart using EPIC ASAP electronic medical records system
• Float to other areas as required and rotate to day shifts on a low-frequency basis when requested

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience
• AHA-certified BLS, ACLS, and PALS
• Proficiency in general ED nursing skills including assessment, IV, phlebotomy, EKG, cardiac monitoring, point-of-care testing, splinting, and patient education

Preferred Experience / Skills

• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification
• Prior experience with EPIC ASAP electronic medical records system
