Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care in a 65-bed, pod-based Emergency Department serving all patient populations, including a separate pediatric pod and an Acute Mental Health area
Perform general ED nursing skills including patient assessment, clinical documentation, IV insertion, phlebotomy, EKG, cardiac monitoring, point-of-care testing, and splinting
Maintain a clinician-to-patient ratio of 1:4 in a high-volume environment averaging approximately 230 visits per day
Document patient care accurately using EPIC ASAP electronic medical records system
Deliver patient education and apply critical thinking to support safe, effective emergency care
Float to other areas as needed and rotate to day shifts on a low-frequency basis when requested
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience
Current AHA-certified BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
Proficiency with EPIC ASAP or comparable EMR platform
Demonstrated competency in core ED nursing skills including IV, phlebotomy, EKG, cardiac monitoring, and point-of-care testing
