    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care in a high-volume Emergency Room setting, managing a diverse patient population ranging from minor to severe diagnoses including trauma, burn, and stroke cases
    • Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:3–4, with flexibility to adjust based on patient volumes; support the Rapid Medical Evaluation (RME) area as needed
    • Administer and monitor all common emergency department drips and medications
    • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including charge nurses, ER techs, respiratory therapy, and physician staff across a 21-bed Level I Trauma, Burn, and Comprehensive Stroke Center
    • Provide care for a predominantly geriatric population with complex co-morbidities, as well as pediatric and general emergency patients
    • Document patient care accurately using Epic electronic health records; floating is limited to helping hands only due to Epic charting requirements
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Illinois, or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
    • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
    • Ability to pass a drug screen; placement is at a drug-free campus
    • Willingness to work every other weekend (Nights: Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday rotation)
    • Willingness to work every other holiday per unit schedule (Nights: Memorial Day Eve, July 3rd, Labor Day Eve, Thanksgiving Eve, Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve)
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) or TNS (Trauma Nurse Specialist) certification preferred
    • Prior experience in a Level I Trauma Center or high-acuity emergency department environment
    • Familiarity with Epic electronic health records
