Key Responsibilities
- Provide emergency nursing care to adult and geriatric patients across all emergency-type diagnoses at a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5
- Perform IV therapy including blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs; administer IV vasopressors
- Manage and monitor patients requiring CPAP/BiPAP and ventilator support
- Care for patients presenting with CVA/stroke, neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury
- Conduct cardiac monitoring including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias; perform triage and maintain isolation precautions
- Utilize special equipment including Bair hugger, rapid infuser, and safe patient handling equipment; float within skillset as required
Required Qualifications
- Active New York Single State RN license required — pending licenses are not accepted (NY is not a Compact state)
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
- NIHSS certification required — must be included at time of submittal
- Minimum 1 year of relevant clinical experience required
- EPIC charting experience is a hard requirement
- Candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are not eligible for this position
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with adult and pediatric emergency care including gunshot wounds and orthopedic trauma
- Experience with pediatric spinal cord injury cases
- Familiarity with advanced stroke care protocols in a certified stroke center environment
- Prior travel nursing experience welcomed — first-time travelers are accepted
