Contract | 13 Weeks | Midshift: 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM
Key Responsibilities
- Rapidly assess patients' conditions and assign Emergency Severity Index (ESI) triage levels upon arrival
- Provide immediate life-saving interventions and stabilize critical and trauma patients
- Administer necessary medications and carry out physician-ordered treatments in accordance with established protocols
- Coordinate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to ensure timely and appropriate patient care
- Delegate patient care priorities commensurate with the education and experience of available staff, providing direction and supervision as needed
- Maintain clinical competencies through ongoing continuing education and adherence to the state Nurse Practice Act and facility policies
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the state of Missouri
- Minimum of 1 year of Emergency Department nursing experience
- Current ACLS, PALS, BLS, NIHSS, and SAMA certifications (or equivalent)
- Proficiency with Cerner EMR
- Demonstrated critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership skills in an emergency care setting
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification
- Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification
