Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a high-volume, 65-bed Emergency Department serving patients ranging from newborns to the elderly with a wide variety of acuity levels
- Manage and titrate a variety of critical drips including vasopressor, cardiac, and antihypertensive medications
- Recognize and respond to life-threatening cardiac rhythms; interpret monitor strips using Philips monitoring equipment
- Perform and assist with lab draws alongside ED techs; collaborate with respiratory therapists on ventilator and airway support equipment
- Care for stabilized trauma patients transferred from the trauma bay to a pod setting; TNCC or TNS certification required for trauma-level readiness
- Adhere to a drug-free campus policy and maintain compliance with all facility and department standards
Required Qualifications
- Active Illinois RN license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
- ENPC or PALS certification required
- TNCC or TNS certification required
- Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for standard contract rates
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Room nursing experience
- At least one prior travel nursing assignment
- SANE RN experience
- Experience working in a teaching hospital environment with residents
