Key Responsibilities

• Provide routine and complex nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients in a high-acuity Emergency Department setting.
• Care for a diverse patient population including adult and pediatric patients across designated Stroke, STEMI, Trauma, Resuscitation, and Regional Advanced Cardiac service lines.
• Administer medications and treatments per appropriate protocol; monitor for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments.
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with scope of practice.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately and in a timely manner.
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers; identify issues and connect with appropriate resources.

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of Texas or a compact state license.
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association only).
• Current ACLS certification (American Heart Association only).
• Current PALS certification (American Heart Association only).
• Current TNCC certification.
• Minimum of 1 year of Emergency Room nursing experience.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Experience in a high-acuity Emergency Department with exposure to Stroke, STEMI, Trauma, or Cardiac patient populations.
