Registered Nurse – Emergency Room

Contract | Nights (1900–0730) | Onsite | Every other weekend required | Holiday requirement applies

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care in an 11-bed Emergency Room at a Critical Access Hospital and Level III verified trauma center
  • Perform triage in a dedicated triage room as expected for all nursing staff, including travelers
  • Manage ER holds within the general Emergency Department, as no separate holding area is available
  • Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry strips independently, as no monitor technicians are on unit
  • Collaborate with a single on-site physician and house supervisor to coordinate patient care across a varied patient population of all ages
  • Perform IV placement and blood draws when initiating IV access, in coordination with phlebotomy services
Required Qualifications
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room experience within the last 3 years
  • Active TNCC, ACLS, PALS, and BLS certifications
  • Proficiency with Cerner EMR
  • Ability to read and interpret cardiac monitor strips independently
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Experience working in a Critical Access or rural hospital setting
  • Familiarity with respiratory equipment including ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, and Airvo
  • ICU experience or comfort floating to an ICU setting
