Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments, triage patients, obtain patient history and vital signs, and intervene appropriately and promptly.
- Provide skilled nursing care for both acutely ill and non-acute patients, including initiating immediate care independently in life-threatening situations in the absence of a physician.
- Process physician and provider orders accurately, completely, and in a timely manner, including follow-up on medication changes and order clarifications.
- Perform multiple nursing procedures utilizing both complex and simple skills, and assist physicians with their procedures.
- Evaluate effectiveness of treatment plans and collaborate with the care team to facilitate revisions that improve patient outcomes.
- Provide physical and psychological comfort to patients, families, and visitors, and deliver discharge and follow-up instructions.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room (ER) nursing experience required.
- Active Michigan RN license in good standing (verified through LARA and/or Nursys).
- Active American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Active American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Current skills checklist (within the last year) pertinent to Emergency Room specialty.
- Two supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior travel nursing experience preferred.
- Experience with Epic EMR preferred.
