Schedule / Job Type
Contract | 13 Weeks | Rotating Shifts (Days & PMs) | Onsite — Mix of 8- and 12-hour shifts; schedule may consist of four 8-hour shifts or two 12-hour shifts and one 8-hour shift per week. Shift times include 0700–1500, 0700–1900, 1500–2300, or 1100–2300, with rare night shifts. Every other weekend (often every third) and every other holiday required.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in an 8-bed Emergency Department, with potential overflow into clinical exam rooms at a ratio dependent on acuity (up to 1:5)
- Assess, triage, and manage emergency patients across a range of acuity levels
- Maintain compliance with facility PPE guidelines and infection control policies, including masking requirements during flu season if vaccination is declined
- Float as needed to other regional emergency department locations
- Remain available for on-call assignments during low census periods; call-back to the facility may result in call-back pay
Required Qualifications
- Active Wisconsin RN license or valid Compact RN license
- BLS certification (AHA or ARC only)
- ACLS certification (AHA or ARC only)
- PALS certification (AHA or ARC only)
- TNCC certification
- Minimum 3 years of Emergency Room experience required
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with Epic EMR
- Familiarity with high-acuity emergency patient populations
- Comfort working in smaller community hospital ED environments
