Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Rotating 12-Hour Shifts (Days & Nights, 7:00 AM–7:00 PM / 7:00 PM–7:00 AM) | Every Other Weekend & Holiday Required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care across the full lifespan (newborn to geriatric) in a Critical Access Emergency Department treating respiratory, cardiac, trauma, and stroke presentations
- Perform competent triage assessment in a dedicated triage room as required each shift
- Initiate and manage common vasoactive and critical care drips including norepinephrine, nitroglycerin, heparin, amiodarone, and propofol
- Read and interpret cardiac monitor strips independently using Phillips telemetry equipment
- Initiate ventilator, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen therapy with verbal support from on-call Respiratory Therapy as needed
- Assist with patient transport to imaging, including mandatory RN attendance for all stroke activations to CT
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
- Current BLS certification
- Current ACLS certification
- Current TNCC certification
- Current ENPC or PALS certification
- Demonstrated competency in de-escalation techniques; ability to function independently without reliance on ancillary support resources
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience in a Critical Access Hospital setting
- Experience managing a Level IV trauma and stroke-ready designated emergency department
- Strong independent clinical decision-making skills with the ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced, low-resource environment
