Registered Nurse – Emergency Room

Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Day Shifts with rotating weekends (6:00 AM–6:00 PM and 8:00 AM–8:00 PM) | Expected 36 hours/week
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members in the care of Emergency Room patients
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policies, procedures, standards of care, and state practice acts
- Perform assessments, planning, intervention, and evaluation of patient care; develop and execute individualized patient plans of care including patient and family instruction
- Document care accurately and thoroughly according to established standards
- Apply critical thinking regarding patient safety and experience, escalating concerns through the appropriate chain of command
- Participate in department performance improvement activities, unit practice decisions, and peer review processes
Required Qualifications
- Active Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
- BLS certification – AHA Provider level required
- ACLS certification – AHA Provider level required
- PALS certification – AHA Provider level required
- NIHSS certification required
- TNCC or TNS certification required
- Education verification required prior to contract start
- All certifications must be verified and cleared before start of contract
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in a fast-paced Emergency Room setting
- Familiarity with shared governance and unit-based performance improvement initiatives
- Experience providing clinical guidance and expertise across interdisciplinary teams
