Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30) | 36/48-Hour Option | Every Other Weekend Required | Contract Start: November 16, 2026
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced Emergency Department with an average daily census of 130 and a 47-bed unit
- Manage a patient population spanning all age ranges, from infant to geriatric, across a wide variety of complex diagnoses
- Maintain a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio while delivering timely, high-quality emergency nursing care
- Float within the Emergency Department specialty as required; travelers are first to float
- Work holidays as scheduled and every other weekend as required
- Adhere to all compliance requirements, including completing onboarding labs within 72 hours of contract signing and submitting compliance documents no later than 5 days prior to start date
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in Maryland or a valid Compact License at time of submission
- BLS certification – American Heart Association only
- ACLS certification – American Heart Association only
- PALS certification – American Heart Association only
- CPI certification required – The Calm Every Storm online version is the only acceptable online vendor
- NIH Stroke Scale certification required
- Minimum 1 year of Emergency Room experience required; 2 years preferred (first-time travelers with strong ER skills and experience will be considered)
- Must have a permanent address 50 or more miles from the facility to be eligible
Preferred Experience / Skills
- 2 or more years of Emergency Room nursing experience
- Experience managing complex, high-acuity diagnoses across all patient age groups in a high-volume ED environment
- Comfort with floating within scope and adapting to varying scheduling needs
