Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Room

Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Nights (6:00 PM – 6:00 AM) | Onsite | Every other to every 3rd weekend rotation | Holiday rotation with team
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in an emergency room setting with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio, managing approximately 20 patients per day
- Care for cardiac and telestroke program patient populations across triage, treatment, and trauma bay areas (2 triage, 5 treatment, 1 trauma bay)
- Perform IV insertions and lab draws, requiring strong IV skills, as both Lab Techs and RNs are responsible for lab collection
- Utilize GE telemetry and monitoring equipment, including hard-wired monitors in rooms and at the nurses' station
- Document and manage patient care using EPIC EMR
- Collaborate with a 24/7 on-site team including physicians, pharmacy, RRTs, and security
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
- Emergency room nursing experience
- Strong IV insertion skills; must be comfortable performing lab draws
- Proficiency or ability to quickly learn EPIC EMR
- Ability to work night shifts (6:00 PM – 6:00 AM) including weekend and holiday rotations
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with cardiac monitoring and telestroke patient populations
- Familiarity with GE telemetry and monitoring equipment
- Prior experience working in a trauma-designated emergency department
