    Job Title

    Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Room

    Location

    Kearney, NE | Acute Care

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Night Shift | 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM | Every other to every 3rd weekend | Holidays on rotation with team

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care in an emergency room setting with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4, managing approximately 20 patients per day
    • Care for cardiac and telestroke program patient populations across 2 triage areas, 5 treatment rooms, and 1 trauma bay
    • Perform IV insertions and lab draws; strong IV skills are required as RNs are expected to draw labs alongside lab techs
    • Document and manage patient records using EPIC EMR
    • Collaborate with charge nurses, nurse aides, physicians, pharmacy, and rapid response teams available 24/7
    • May assist with Med Surg holds on an as-needed basis; floating is not typical
    Required Qualifications
    • Minimum 2 years of emergency room nursing experience
    • Active Nebraska RN license or compact state license
    • BLS certification – AHA, ARC, or Military Training Network
    • ACLS certification – AHA or ARC
    • NIHSS certification
    • ENPC certification
    • TNCC certification
    • Candidates must live more than 50 miles from Kearney, NE to be eligible
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience with EPIC EMR
    • Familiarity with telemetry monitoring equipment, including GE hard-wired systems
    • Experience caring for cardiac and stroke patient populations
