    Registered Nurse – Emergency Room

    Hagerstown, MD | Level 2 Trauma Center – Emergency Room

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Night Shift | 4x12-Hour Shifts | 19:00–07:00

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care in a high-acuity, fast-paced 54-bed Emergency Room averaging approximately 220 patients per day
    • Manage and triage patients across a wide acuity spectrum within a Level 2 Trauma Center environment
    • Document patient care accurately and efficiently using EPIC electronic health records
    • Participate in weekend scheduling as assigned; night shift team members may be scheduled up to six weekend shifts and up to three Sundays within a 6-week scheduling period
    • Float to other units in rotation with facility staff, in accordance with facility floating policies and Joint Commission standards, based on clinical experience
    • Complete required orientation and annual competency modules through the Relias/Net Learning portal (non-billable, averaging 4–8 hours)
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
    • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room nursing experience
    • Minimum 1 year of travel nursing experience required
    • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIH Stroke Scale (NIH pending certification acceptable at time of submission)
    • Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records system required
    • 2-Step PPD and Flu Vaccine required — no exemptions accepted
    • Expect to work some holidays and weekends
    • Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; candidates within 50 miles are generally not accepted

    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience in a high-volume or trauma-designated emergency department
    • Familiarity with rapid triage and management of high-acuity trauma patients
    • Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced, high-census environment
