    Contract | 12 Weeks | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (20:00–08:30) | Every Other Weekend Required

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care in a high-volume, fast-paced, non-trauma emergency department serving patients of all ages (neonates to geriatrics)
    • Manage a patient ratio of 1:4, up to 1:5 with lower acuity, across a 66-bed emergency department with an average census of 200+
    • Staff and rotate within a 10-bed ED Hold/Observation unit embedded within the ER department, with ratios of 1:5, up to 1:6 with lower acuity
    • Float within the emergency specialty, including the ED Hold/Obs unit, as needed
    • Document patient care accurately using EPIC EMR (preferred)
    • Work required holidays as scheduled; no pre-scheduled on-call shifts required
    Required Qualifications
    • Minimum 2 years of emergency department nursing experience required; first-time travelers with strong ED experience will be considered
    • Active Maryland RN license or Compact License required at time of submission
    • BLS certification (AHA only) required
    • ACLS certification (AHA only) required
    • PALS certification (AHA only) required
    • NIH Stroke Scale certification required
    • CPI certification required — only the Calm Every Storm online version is accepted as an online option
    • Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible (permanent address must be 50+ miles from facility address)
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience with EPIC EMR
    • Comfort managing complex, multi-diagnosis patient populations across a broad age range
    • Experience in or comfort with ED observation/hold unit settings
