Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Every Other Weekend & Holiday Required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a combined ED and Med-Surg Swing Bed unit (22 beds) with ratios of 1:4 for acute and ED patients and 1:6 for swing bed patients
- Titrate and manage drips as required per patient care needs
- Read and interpret telemetry strips independently as the assigned RN
- Operate and monitor respiratory therapy equipment including nebulizers, O2 (nasal and mask), ventilators (ED/transport use), and CPAP as needed
- Float to ED holds as needed and may serve in a charge nurse capacity
- Participate in unit-specific orientation prior to independent practice
Required Qualifications
- Active RN licensure in good standing
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required
- Minimum of one year of Med-Surg experience
- Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Must not have worked permanently or PRN at this facility within the last 12 months
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in an Emergency Department setting
- Experience with swing bed or combined ED/Med-Surg unit environments
- Comfort with charge nurse responsibilities
- Experience managing patients on telemetry monitoring
