    Job Title

    Registered Nurse – Emergency Room (Travel / Float)

    Location

    Garden City, KS (Zone-based float covering up to 60-mile radius)

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | 12-Hour Night Shifts | Onsite | Every other weekend and holiday required

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care in Emergency Room/ED settings across multiple facilities within an assigned regional zone covering a 60-mile radius
    • Manage a patient assignment of 4–5 patients based on acuity, including common diagnoses such as abdominal pain, diabetes, NSTEMI, pneumonia, trauma, stroke, and hypertension
    • Administer standard emergency medications and drips, and monitor patient responses throughout the shift
    • Interpret and read telemetry strips independently, as no monitor technician is on unit
    • Perform Point of Care lab testing following on-site training
    • Float between Emergency Room departments within the assigned zone as scheduled by unit leadership
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the state of Kansas
    • Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications required
    • Ability to read and independently interpret telemetry
    • Willingness and ability to float throughout all facilities within the assigned 60-mile regional zone
    • Must be present in state for the full week of orientation, even if initial modules are completed remotely
    • Valid driver's license required; housing must be arranged to support floating throughout the full zone
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Prior travel nursing experience in an Emergency Room or ED setting
    • Experience working in facilities that manage STEMI and stroke send-out protocols
    • Comfort working in varied ED environments ranging from low to moderate volume (6–49 patients per day)
