    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Nights, 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Onsite

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care in a high-acuity, high-volume Emergency Room seeing approximately 230 visits per day across 36 beds with overflow units
    • Manage a 1:4 patient ratio covering all ages, with a primary focus on geriatric and adult populations; approximately 10% pediatric patients who are transported to a children's facility as needed
    • Care for patients presenting with respiratory conditions, stroke, abdominal pain, cardiac events, and sepsis within a designated Stroke and STEMI Center
    • Stroke experience is required — candidates without stroke experience will not be considered
    • Float to Tele Hold and ICU Hold units as needed based on unit demand
    • Expected to work at least 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule cycle, which may include shifts every weekend; must commit to working 3 of 5 designated holidays
    Required Qualifications
    • Active, valid RN license for the state of California; compact license must be in hand at time of submission — pending licenses are not accepted
    • Minimum of 1.5 years of Emergency Room experience required (2 years preferred); candidates with less than 1.5 years will not be considered
    • Stroke experience required — hard stop; candidates without this experience will not be screened
    • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS
    • Must be available to work weekends as described above and commit to holiday coverage requirements; all RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted at time of candidate submission — post-submission requests may not be honored
    • Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible at standard rates; candidates within 50 miles may be considered at a local rate
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience with Epic EMR highly preferred; candidates without Epic experience should be noted at submission
    • Preferred certifications: TNCC and/or CEN or CPN
    • Limited pediatric experience is acceptable given the low percentage of pediatric cases
    • Prior experience in a Magnet-designated facility is a plus
