Contract (13 Weeks) | Nights | Rotating Night/Evening Shifts | 3x12 or 4x12 Hours | Every Other Weekend Required | Holidays Required as Scheduled
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced Emergency Department setting for patients across all age ranges, from infant to geriatric
- Manage and assess patients presenting with a wide variety of diagnoses spanning all body systems, including complex and high-acuity cases
- Maintain a patient assignment ratio of 1:4, with the potential for up to 1:5 with lower-acuity patients based on departmental needs
- Work rotating night and evening shifts, with the primary scheduling need on night shift (19:00–07:30 / 15:00–03:30)
- Float within the Emergency Department specialty and to sister ED facilities as needed
- Adhere to all departmental scheduling requirements, including every-other-weekend and holiday obligations
Required Qualifications
- Active Maryland RN license or valid Compact RN license at time of submission
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room RN experience required
- BLS certification – American Heart Association only
- ACLS certification – American Heart Association only
- PALS certification – American Heart Association only
- NIH Stroke Scale certification required; CPI certification to be completed during onboarding
Preferred Experience / Skills
- First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply
- Comfort with floating within scope to sister Emergency Department locations as needed
- Experience managing complex, multi-system diagnoses in a high-volume ED environment
