Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care in a high-volume emergency department setting serving all patient types including adults
Manage and monitor complex drips including sedation, vasoactive agents, vasopressors, heparin, insulin, pain control, and antiarrhythmics
Read and interpret telemetry strips and respond appropriately to cardiac rhythm changes
Maintain a patient ratio of 4:1 within a 36-bed emergency department
Float across multiple campuses as assigned
Document all patient care accurately using the EPIC electronic medical records system
Required Qualifications
Active Iowa RN license or active Compact/Multistate RN license at time of submission
Minimum 15 months of emergency medicine experience; work history must reflect at least 36 months of Emergency Department experience
Recent Level I trauma experience
Current and recent travel nursing experience
Active TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification — documentation required
Active BLS certification (AHA or ARC), ACLS certification (AHA), and PALS certification (AHA) required
Proficiency with EPIC EMR
Valid Driver's License — documentation required
Skills checklist specific to Emergency Department/Emergency Room discipline required at time of submission
Preferred Experience / Skills
NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification preferred; may be obtained during onboarding
Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months preferred
