Key Responsibilities
- Provides individualized, holistic, and age-specific patient and family care using the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Develops and adapts comprehensive, culturally appropriate plans of care in collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Identifies and responds to patient and family educational needs through individualized education plans, applying adult-learning theory to evaluate and revise plans as needed.
- Serves as a patient and family advocate, encouraging participation in decision-making and upholding individual and family rights.
- Delegates and assigns care to other healthcare team members within their scope of practice, and coordinates with ancillary staff to expedite patient progress and workflow.
- Recognizes barriers to communication and collaborates with interdisciplinary team members to establish therapeutic relationships and meet diverse patient needs.
Required Qualifications
- Active California RN License required.
- BLS certification required.
- ACLS certification required.
- NIH Stroke Scale certification required.
- PALS certification required.
- CPI or comparable crisis prevention certification required (minimum 8-hour course with at least half of class completed in person).
- BSN or ADN required.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- At least three years of recent RN experience in a registered nurse role.
- At least two years of recent RN experience in an Emergency Room or specialty area.
