Contract | Nights | 4x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:00) | 36 or 48 hours per week | Weekends required; scheduled days will vary based on staffing needs
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced Emergency Room setting, including patients across the adult and pediatric populations
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans in accordance with clinical protocols
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, high-quality patient outcomes
- Utilize Epic EMR for accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities
- Float within scope of practice to other units as needed based on staffing requirements
- Work 2 out of 3 winter holidays as required by unit scheduling policies
Required Qualifications
- Active Virginia RN license (pending license accepted; must be in hand by the Wednesday before start date)
- ACLS, BLS, and PALS required; TNCC required (may submit with TNCC pending, but must have prior to start)
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room nursing experience required
- At least 1 year of Level 1 Trauma Center experience, or at least 2 years of Level 2 Trauma Center experience, including some pediatric experience
- Epic EMR experience required
- Nursys verification required at time of submission
- Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Preferred Experience / Skills
- BSN preferred
- Experience in a high-volume or academic medical center emergency department
- Broad pediatric emergency care experience
