Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a Level 3 Trauma Emergency Department utilizing the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and facility policies and procedures
- Perform thorough patient assessments and communicate clinical findings effectively to the care team
- Administer medications accurately and monitor patients for side effects and adverse reactions
- Demonstrate critical thinking and clinical judgment in anticipating and planning for the safe delivery of emergency patient care
- Delegate patient care priorities commensurate with the education and experience of available staff; provide direction and supervision of assigned personnel
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient care while adhering to safety standards, infection control protocols, and quality improvement initiatives
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in New Mexico
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience
- Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, and ENPC certifications required
- Proficiency with EMR systems; experience with MedHost (EDIS) a plus
- Must be available for floating assignments and on-call shifts (call requirement: minimum 2 hours prior to shift start)
- Candidates must be submitted through an agency registered with the State of New Mexico; fingerprinting is required for all New Mexico travelers
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification preferred
- Prior travel nursing experience in an emergency or trauma setting
