Key Responsibilities
- Provide general medical, emergency department, and outpatient nursing care across a 25-bed critical access hospital serving patients ranging from infant to geriatric
- Float between hospital, ED, and outpatient nursing departments as needed; provide PACU coverage when required — all within the same unit
- Administer and manage medications using Pyxis and Alaris IV pumps; monitor patients via Phillips telemetry and cardiac monitoring systems
- Document patient care using Epic/One Chart EMR; complete on-site Epic training as part of orientation
- Maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3–4, working alongside a minimum of 2 RNs during night shifts and 3–4 RNs during day/evening shifts with nursing assistant support
- Wear Navy Blue scrubs and badge in and out at the facility for every shift
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license valid in Minnesota
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
- TNCC or CALS certification required
- Must live within 80 miles of the facility to be eligible for local placement consideration
- Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have an end date at least 6 months prior to the submission date
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Minimum 3 years of RN experience preferred, particularly in emergency or critical access hospital settings
- Prior experience with Epic/One Chart EMR
- Comfort working with diverse patient populations and skill mixes, including medical, surgical, and emergency cases
