Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | 36 or 48 hours/week | Every other weekend (2 weekends per 4-week schedule period) | Every other holiday | Assignment expected through January 9, 2027
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a high-volume Adult Emergency Department serving 350–440 patients per day across up to 120 treatment areas
- Maintain a patient ratio of 1:4–5 depending on acuity
- Independently read and interpret telemetry rhythm strips, including identification of heart blocks; must pass a Telemetry Test (85% or higher) on Day 1
- Float as needed to Psych ED and Pediatric ED (caring for patients age 15 and older in Pedi ED, unless prior pediatric experience is present)
- Deliver safe, evidence-based emergency nursing care in accordance with department protocols and scope of practice
Required Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted RN license in Massachusetts (or compact eligibility)
- Minimum of 1.5 years of recent Level I or Level II ED experience, OR 2+ years of recent Level III/IV ED experience
- Ability to independently read and interpret telemetry rhythm strips and identify heart blocks
- Active/unexpired certifications required: BLS, ACLS, TNCC, and PALS
- Must be flexible with floating to Psych ED and Pediatric ED areas
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility will be considered at a local rate
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with EPIC electronic health records
- Previous travel nursing assignments
- Critical care experience
- Prior pediatric emergency experience (relevant for Pedi ED float coverage)
