Travel RN – Emergency Department (Night Shift)

Schedule / Job Type
Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Shifts are variable with a 7:00 PM start | Every other weekend may be required | No on-call obligation
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a 24-bed Emergency Department with a 5-bed fast track area, maintaining a 4:1 patient ratio
- Collaborate with charge nurses, technicians, and paramedics in a volume-driven, flex-staffing environment
- Assess, triage, and manage emergency patients across a broad acuity spectrum using critical thinking and sound clinical judgment
- Document patient care accurately using Meditech EMR
- Adapt to variable staffing levels based on patient volume and arrival patterns throughout the shift
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Virginia or compact state eligibility
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
- PALS certification required
- TNCC certification required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- NIHSS certification
- ENPC certification
- CPI certification
- Strong interpersonal skills with a hard-working, outgoing, and critically minded approach to patient care
