Travel Nurse RN - Emergency Room (ER) / Trauma in Austin, TX

Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care in a high-volume emergency department with 48 private rooms, 27 hallway stretchers, 9 fast track bays, and 5 behavioral health rooms. Perform and assist with procedures including splinting, EKGs, central line management, airway support, trauma assists, resuscitation, and rapid infuser operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a high-volume emergency department with 48 private rooms, 27 hallway stretchers, 9 fast track bays, and 5 behavioral health rooms
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:4 in the ED, 1:5 in behavioral health, and 1:3 for cardiac/trauma patients
• Perform and assist with procedures including splinting, EKGs, central line management, airway support, trauma assists, resuscitation, and rapid infuser operation
• Utilize Alaris pumps, Belmont and Level 1 rapid infusers, and Stryker stretchers; document care using MEDITECH EMR
• Support behavioral health de-escalation and participate in central monitoring activities
• Maintain required certifications including ACLS, BLS, ENPC, TNCC, and NIHSS throughout the assignment

Required Qualifications

• Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 1 year of emergency department nursing experience
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, ENPC, TNCC, and NIHSS
• Ability to work rotating weekends

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience with MEDITECH EMR
• Trauma nursing experience
• Experience holding inpatient patients within an emergency department setting
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification
