Contract | Days | 4x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) | Expected 48 hours/week
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a large, high-acuity, non-trauma Emergency Department serving adolescent through geriatric populations
- Manage a patient assignment within a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio in a 59-bed ER averaging 165–175 patients per day
- Deliver care in a Stroke and STEMI Certified facility, applying appropriate clinical protocols and emergency interventions
- Document accurately and efficiently using Epic (required) and Pyxis medication dispensing systems
- Participate in holiday coverage per facility policy; travelers are expected to work major holidays that fall within their assignment period
- Float within the facility and within scope of practice on a rare, as-needed basis
Required Qualifications
- Active Georgia RN license or valid Compact RN license required at time of submission
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room nursing experience; first-time travel nurses are not eligible for this position
- Prior travel nursing experience required; candidates with at least 3 completed ER travel contracts are strongly preferred
- BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale, and PALS certifications required
- Proficiency in Epic is required; candidates without Epic experience are not eligible for this position
- All RTO requests must be finalized at time of submission; no RTO or schedule changes may be requested post-offer or while on assignment, and no RTO is permitted during orientation week
- Local candidates are welcome and accepted at the same rate
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Three or more completed Emergency Room travel nursing contracts
- Experience working in a high-volume, high-acuity emergency department environment
- Familiarity with Pyxis medication dispensing systems
- Experience caring for a broad patient population spanning adolescents to geriatrics
