    Travel RN – Emergency Room

    Location

    Asheville, NC | Acute Care – Emergency Department

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights | 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM | Every Other Weekend Required

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care in a high-volume Emergency Department with up to 101 beds and patient ratios of 4:1 (medical) and up to 7:1 on behavioral holds
    • Utilize Cerner for all clinical documentation throughout each patient visit, including keeping patient boards updated with current information
    • Operate Baxter pumps and GE monitors; collaborate with techs supporting cardiac monitoring, internal processing, and triage areas
    • Float within all sections of the Emergency Department as needed to meet departmental staffing requirements
    • Adhere to patient experience standards including AIDET, respectful behavior practices, and consistent patient communication throughout each visit
    • Demonstrate ability to work in all areas of the ED with flexibility to meet scheduling needs of the department
    Required Qualifications
    • Active RN license in North Carolina or compact state eligibility
    • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year in an Emergency Room setting
    • ACLS required prior to start date
    • BLS required prior to start date
    • PALS required prior to start date
    • TNCC required prior to start date
    • CPI required prior to start date
    • NIHSS required prior to start date
    • ENPC required within 90 days of hire
    • Strong teamwork mentality with the ability to coach and provide real-time feedback
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience in a Level II Trauma Center or comprehensive stroke center
    • Background in a high-volume Emergency Department exceeding 100,000 annual visits
    • Familiarity with Cerner electronic health records system
