Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care in a high-volume emergency department seeing approximately 180–200 visits per day, serving a patient population ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics
Manage a patient assignment at a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio, performing independent lab draws and IV starts
Care for a diverse case mix including trauma, CVA, orthopedic, and neurological presentations; support transfer coordination for cases requiring higher-level care
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including ED physicians, APPs, nurse aides, paramedics, respiratory therapists, and pharmacy staff
Utilize Meditech 6.15 EMR for all documentation and patient care activities
Adhere to facility dress code (Caribbean Blue scrubs) and complete floor-specific orientation within the first week as scheduled
Required Qualifications
Active RN license with a minimum of 5 years of emergency room nursing experience
At least one prior travel nursing assignment required
Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ACLS or NIHSS, and CPI
Proficiency with Meditech EMR (version 6.15 preferred)
Ability to work every other weekend and every other holiday
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience working in a high-acuity emergency department with trauma, stroke, or behavioral health patient populations
Familiarity with ventilator management in an ED setting and collaboration with dedicated respiratory therapy staff
Prior charge nurse experience in an emergency department setting
