Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Operating Room Nurse Manager for a 13-week contract assignment in Chillicothe, Ohio. This pivotal leadership role is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and strategic direction of surgical services across a diverse range of specialties, including Urology, ENT, Vascular, OB/GYN, Cardiothoracic, General Surgery, and Acute Care Surgery.
The Nurse Manager will lead and develop a dedicated team of perioperative nursing staff, ensuring the delivery of exceptional, patient-centered care while maintaining high standards of quality and operational efficiency. This role requires a collaborative leader adept at working with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes and departmental performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the daily operations of the Operating Room department.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and direct supervision to perioperative nursing staff.
- Ensure the provision of high-quality, safe, and patient-centered care across all surgical specialties.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to optimize surgical workflows and patient outcomes.
- Develop, implement, and monitor quality improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Manage departmental resources, including staffing, scheduling, and budget adherence.
- Facilitate effective communication and foster a positive, collaborative work environment.
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive nursing leadership or management experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience within an Operating Room setting.
- Demonstrated experience managing surgical services across multiple specialties.
