Job Title

Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse

Job Summary

This role is for an experienced Registered Nurse to join a dynamic Interventional Radiology team in Columbia, Missouri. The nurse will provide comprehensive care to a diverse patient population undergoing a wide range of invasive and non-invasive procedures.

Key responsibilities include patient assessment, procedural sedation, monitoring, and post-procedure care for complex interventions such as neurovascular procedures for stroke, various biopsies, line placements, and advanced imaging studies. The ideal candidate will excel in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating critical thinking, strong communication, and adaptability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive head-to-toe patient assessments, identifying and responding to potential complications.
  • Implement and adhere to strict radiation safety protocols during procedures.
  • Educate patients and family members on procedures, addressing concerns and ensuring understanding.
  • Facilitate effective communication with radiologists and the interdisciplinary team regarding patient needs and status.
  • Exercise critical decision-making and act decisively in emergent or critical situations.
  • Adapt quickly to new environments and manage multiple responsibilities across different departments.
  • Provide high-quality patient care, proactively identifying and solving problems to optimize outcomes.
  • Assist with and monitor patients during interventional radiology and CT procedures requiring sedation.
  • Circulate for various interventional procedures.
Required Qualifications
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri.
  • Proficiency in IV Insertion, PICC/Central Line Management, Vascular Device Access/Care.
  • Competency in Tele Interpretation and Cardioversion/Defibrillation.
  • Experience with Procedural Sedation.
  • Ability to Circulate for procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent neuro nursing experience.
  • Experience with CVP (Central Venous Pressure) monitoring.
  • Proficiency in Sheath Removal.

  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, adaptability, ability to manage multiple priorities, teamwork.
  • Patient Ratio: 1:1 for procedural sedation.
Shift Details
  • Shift Type: AM
  • Shift Duration: 8 hours per day, 5 days per week.
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks.
  • Start Date: September 21, 2026.
  • Call Requirements: Rotating call schedule, Monday-Friday from 16:30 to 07:30, and Saturday-Sunday from 07:00 to 07:00. Call includes holidays and covers interventional radiology and CT procedures only.
  • Weekend Rotation: Included in the rotating call schedule.
