Must-Have:
- Experience with general emergency department care for adults and pediatrics.
- Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias.
- Competence in obtaining 12 lead EKG/ECG and starting and maintaining IVs.
- Skills in triage and emergency department boarding.
- Experience in initiating and completing inpatient orders and order sets.
Description:
The emergency department treats patients suffering from trauma, injury, or urgent medical conditions.
A variety of patients with medical, mental health, and chemical dependency needs are seen.
Specialties include neuro, cardiac, and mental health.
The unit serves a diverse patient population, including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
Daily census is approximated at 167 visits, with 52 rooms and 45 beds available.
Interdisciplinary support is provided by teams such as IV, respiratory services, interpretation, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, pharmacy, and transportation.
Nurses are expected to possess strong skills in emergency care and teamwork.
