Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a Cardiac Cath Lab assignment in Janesville, Wisconsin. This role is based in a hospital setting, focusing on providing specialized nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures.
The Cardiac Cath Lab RN will be integral to the interdisciplinary team, providing comprehensive care through all phases of the patient's journey, including pre-procedure assessment, intra-procedure monitoring and assistance, and post-procedure recovery. This involves managing complex cardiac patients, ensuring patient safety, and utilizing advanced clinical skills in a fast-paced environment.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional critical thinking, strong communication, and a commitment to patient-centered care and continuous professional development within the specialized field of interventional cardiology.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply the nursing process (assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation) in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive patient care.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, hospital policies, and state practice acts.
- Ensure accurate, comprehensive, and timely documentation of all patient care activities.
- Develop, initiate, and execute individualized patient care plans, providing appropriate patient and family education.
- Participate actively in department performance improvement initiatives and shared governance activities.
- Provide clinical expertise and guidance to other units/departments to support the patient's longitudinal plan of care.
- Utilize critical thinking to ensure patient safety, manage complex clinical situations, and appropriately delegate tasks to other staff.
- Engage in continuous personal development, supporting evidence-based practice and professional growth opportunities.
- Contribute positively to the professional environment and participate in peer review and feedback processes.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Minimum of 3 years of Registered Nurse (RN) experience.
- Minimum of 1 year of critical care experience.
- Required Cardiovascular Intervention experience.
- Successful completion of an EKG competency test.

Shift Details

- Call Requirements: One night per week and one weekend per month.
- Weekend Rotation: One weekend per month (as part of call rotation).
Licensing Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Wisconsin (WI) or a Compact State.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
